Breaking Starting Youngsters Behaviour Work Handling Polo Pony Training Pre Race Training Home ROUNDPEN ONE STEP AT A TIME PLEASE MOUTHING LIGHT SCHOOL A BRIGHT NEW FUTURE ROUNDPEN We specialise in starting young horses using a round pen, with the emphasis on modern methods of horsemanship. Round pen work is extremely beneficial in starting youngsters as it provides a good base education in handling, communication and desensitisation to the human being and equipment such as rollers and long lines, leading on to the introduction of the saddle. The first week is spent preparing the horse for saddle and rider, starting with a roller or cinch with a natural progression then to long lines and saddle. "Tally" our sixth member of the team works inside the round pen to encourage and give confidence to the younger horse. Tally is an invaluable member of the team - she is Yorkshires equivalent to the ranching horse!
