In conjunction with Askham Bryan (York), The Yorkshire Equine Clinic can now offer NVQ level 1, 2 and 3 horse care training on site. Courses consist of 225 hours over 10 months, equivalent to 6 hours per week. Courses are internally assessed by YEC’s experienced staff. Anyone from age 16 upwards can enrol on the courses that can be tailored to suit the individual, taking place part-time on weekends or evenings. What courses are available? NVQs in Horse Care levels 1,2 & 3. BHS Stages 1, 2, 3, 4, PTT and ITT, BHS Horseowners. How can I study? At flexible times, weekends, evenings or holiday blocks of days to suit the group. Who can enrol? Any person aged 16yrs or over. There is no upper age limit. How much will it cost? There is no course fee, but there is a small admin charge and a documentation fee. How will the course be assessed? Takes place on the yard for short courses and NVQs. BHS Stage exms are held at the examination centre. BHS Exam fee refunds £100 refund on your exam fees on completion of your BHS Stage certificate (Care & Riding) Progression Once you complete and achieve one qualification you can re-enrol and move on to the next level. Can I study if I am still at school? Ask your school to contact Jane Wright-Roberts for further details of courses you can do at the yard during your normal school day.
